AAT 017 Discover Uganda: A Safari Through Primate Habitats & Scenic Landscapes

After an early breakfast, we depart Kampala and journey to Murchison Falls (approximately 5-6 hours). En route, enjoy a scenic stop for lunch. Upon arrival in the afternoon, we visit Murchison Falls—where the Nile River is forced through a narrow crevice, creating a spectacular waterfall. You’ll have a chance to enjoy some birdwatching and photography before heading to your lodge for the evening. Start the day with an early morning game drive on the northern bank of the Nile, where you may encounter giraffes, elephants, lions, hartebeest, and various bird species. Return to the lodge for breakfast and relax before lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Nile, which offers close-up views of crocodiles, hippos, and more wildlife. We depart Murchison Falls and travel to Fort Portal (approximately 8 hours). Along the way, enjoy the scenic views of local villages and markets. Arrive in the evening and check-in at your accommodation in Kibale National Park. Overnight: Primate Lodge Kibale Meals: Lunch, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast

Begin the day with an exciting trek in Kibale Forest to search for the famous chimpanzees, as well as other primates like red-tailed monkeys and colobus monkeys. After lunch, explore Bigodi Swamp, known for its rich diversity of birds, butterflies, and rare plants. After breakfast, we drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, passing by stunning crater lakes. Enjoy a game drive as you enter the park and head to your lodge. Overnight: Mweya Safari Lodge Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Early morning coffee before heading to the Uganda Kob mating grounds to spot lions and leopards hunting, as well as elephants and other wildlife. After lunch, embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, known for the highest concentration of hippos in East Africa. Overnight: Mweya Safari Lodge Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today, you can choose between a forest walk in Maramagambo Forest or a chimpanzee trek in Kyambura Gorge (extra fee). Afterward, we journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. Arrive in the evening and check-in. Overnight: Buhoma Lodge Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After an early breakfast, head to the park for a gorilla trekking experience. This is the highlight of your safari! Trek through steep and muddy conditions to encounter these gentle giants in their natural habitat. Expect to spend several hours observing gorillas in the wild. Return to your lodge in the evening. Start early and head to Lake Mburo National Park. Arrive in time for lunch, followed by a boat ride on the lake to see wildlife and birdlife. For adventure seekers, activities like horseback riding and quad biking are available at an extra fee. Overnight: Mihingo Lodge Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

In the morning, enjoy a nature walk in the park, which offers opportunities to spot wildlife and learn about the area's plants. Afterward, we drive back to Kampala with a stop at the Ugandan Equator for a fun water experiment and souvenir shopping. Overnight: Mestil Hotel, Kampala Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After breakfast, travel to Jinja, where the Nile River originates from Lake Victoria. Visit the Source of the Nile, and stop by the Bujagali Falls. For the adventurous, you can opt for rafting or a quad biking safari (extra fees). Return to Kampala for your final overnight stay. Overnight: Mestil Hotel, Kampala Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your onward flight. If you have a late flight, we will arrange a city tour to visit some of Kampala's historic sites before your departure. Meals: Breakfast
