Itinerary

After breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your hotel and drive through the scenic countryside of western Uganda. Enjoy views of the Kigezi hills and the “little Switzerland” of Uganda. Along the way, you’ll stop for lunch before continuing to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Arrive in the evening, check in, and enjoy dinner at your luxurious Gorilla Resort Camp or the Buhoma Community Bandas. After breakfast, you will be briefed by your guide and begin your gorilla trekking adventure. The trek through Bwindi’s dense forest to encounter the mountain gorillas may take several hours, so be prepared with a packed lunch. Once you meet the gorillas, you’ll have an unforgettable opportunity to observe these incredible creatures. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight. After breakfast, you’ll drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, passing through the Ishasha sector, known for its tree-climbing lions and abundant wildlife, including bushbucks and antelopes. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch. In the afternoon, explore the crater lakes region, known for its scenic views and the Lake Katwe salt mines, a traditional source of salt in the park. Begin your day with an early morning game drive along the Kasenyi track in search of leopards, lions, elephants, hyenas, and other wildlife. After the drive, enjoy a relaxing launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel, where you will see large populations of hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of water birds. Today, we drive via Fort Portal to Nyakasura to visit the Amebere ga Nyinamwiru caves, where you’ll view spectacular stalactites and stalagmites. Afterward, continue to Kibale National Park, where you’ll enjoy dinner and overnight at the Ndali Lodge, Kanyankyu Tourist Centre, or a guesthouse in Fort Portal. After breakfast, head to Kanyankyu Tourist Centre for your chimpanzee tracking experience in Kibale National Park. In the afternoon, enjoy a nature walk around Bigodi Swamp, where you will spot a variety of primates, including vervet monkeys, L’hoest monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, and olive baboons. The swamp is also home to diverse bird species, making it a great spot for birdwatching.
