Day 1: Nairobi to Sirimon Gate, Old Moses Camp
- 07:00 AM: Depart Nairobi and drive to Sirimon Gate (2,600 meters) at the Mount Kenya National Park.
- 09:30 AM: Arrive at Sirimon Gate, complete park registration, and meet your mountain crew.
- Begin the trek through the montane forest, with chances to spot wildlife such as monkeys and colorful bird species.
- Stop for a picnic lunch along the trail.
- Continue hiking to Old Moses Camp (3,300 meters), your overnight stop.
- Dinner and overnight stay at Old Moses Camp.
Day 2: Old Moses Camp to Shipton’s Camp
- 07:00 AM: Enjoy breakfast at Old Moses Camp before starting your trek.
- Ascend through the heath and moorland zones, passing the Liki North and Liki South valleys.
- Stop for lunch at Liki North Hut (3,993 meters).
- Continue trekking to Shipton’s Camp (4,200 meters), your base for the summit attempt.
- Arrive at Shipton’s Camp in the afternoon and rest.
- Dinner and overnight stay at Shipton’s Camp.
Day 3: Summit Attempt – Point Lenana, Descend to Sirimon Gate, Nairobi
- 02:00 AM: Wake up for an early breakfast before beginning the summit attempt.
- Start the trek in darkness to reach Point Lenana (4,985 meters) by sunrise.
- Ascend via Harris Tarn and the Austrian Hut, navigating through rocky terrain and scree slopes.
- Reach Point Lenana in time to witness the spectacular sunrise over the African landscape.
- Celebrate your achievement at the summit and take in the breathtaking views.
- Begin the descent back to Shipton’s Camp for a hot breakfast and brief rest.
- Continue descending via the Mackinder’s Valley route, passing the Hausberg Col and Two Tarn Hut.
- Arrive back at Sirimon Gate by early afternoon, where you’ll meet your transfer vehicle.
- Drive back to Nairobi, with drop-off at your hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
